A big thank you to everyone who supported me in this election. It's been a busy day of returning very kind messages.
I also want to thank my fellow candidates, Linnet Rimmer, Matteo Raso and Ron Goswell. I've been on successful campaigns and on campaigns where I fell short of my goals. I know you each put a lot of work into this, you each brought ideas to the table, and I truly hope you stay involved.
I was lucky to run in a ward where the campaigns stuck to ideas and to building up, instead of personal attacks. Again, I thank you for keeping the campaign about how we can make the community better.
And to everyone who volunteered, answered a door, or voted for me or for one of my competitors, thank you. The conversation and the process of an election is where a lot of positive ideas get their footing, and they go on to make a difference in our community, whether your candidate won or lost.
I look forward to getting to know you all better over the next four years, and to helping move those ideas to action and improving the value and pride your city contributes back to you.
I can do so much more when we work together, and I'm just as happy to provide the support you need to get those ideas off the ground as I am to run with them.
A big thank you as well to outgoing councillor Joscelyne Landry-Altmann. There are a lot of great projects that you got the ball rolling on that I'm happy to keep pushing. While we've disagreed on some issues before, I never doubted your commitment to the people of Ward 12. I look forward to inviting you out as those projects reach completion, and thank you for 20 years of dedication.
Thank you for your trust.
Let's work together.
Jeff

Sudbury has more going for it than most of us are feeling on the ground. Companies here are competing globally. Investment and new builds are happening. New jobs are starting to land.
But a lot of people look at their own street and don't see it in their roads or neighbourhoods.
Making the city work for the people who live here is the job.
My entire career has been building teams, making sure they have the tools to excel, and helping them succeed.
Currently, I'm Executive Director at Downtown Sudbury. Two years in, a big part of that job is helping community groups bring their ideas and their events to life. Our goal, and biggest success, is continually making the process of hosting events simpler than it was the time before. The win is never just the event. It's that the next group has a shorter and clearer path to success.
I also help businesses navigate their relationship with the city, and advocate on their behalf. That work has shown me how complicated a simple request can become, and where we can simplify the process to make it easier for everyone.
That's what I'll do on council. First I'll help you with your issue, then I'll go after the process that created it, so the next person doesn't have to make the call at all.
We have good people working for this city. Too often the system gets in their way, and a resident calling for help gets handed between multiple departments while nobody owns the problem. I'll own it. Getting city staff, the rest of council and the community playing on the same team is most of where a councillor can make real change.
Ward 12 carries some of the city's oldest roads, pipes and sidewalks. That work has to get done, and it has to be done with residents in the loop. You'll know when construction is coming to your street and how to prepare for it.
I'm running so that you get the best out of your city, whether you're a resident with a problem, a community group with an idea, or someone starting a business here.
You deserve a city and neighbourhood you are proud of.
